Project-based learning examples
As a follow-up to Task 5 (Project-based tasks that support reflective practice and build critical thinking skills), I invite you to share ideas, links, and materials for YOUR PBL lesson plans, or others that you have tried.
Here are several tried and tested projects that you are welcome to adapt and use in your classes:
Some are very well developed, and some less so. Two of them are based around novels (“The Giver” and “Holes”), so include literature circles and other creative, group-based interaction ideas.
The Giver has a folder (“Scanned Chapters for the Giver”) that has a concordances of all of the modal verbs in the text, so you can see how grammar instruction might be integrated into the project.
Some of the projects are clearly for beginner levels, and others for more advanced learners.
